How to Calculate Weight of Reinforcement bars?
Steel is an important component in the construction of any building.There are many types of steel used in building like 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, That is, steel of different diameters is used in the building.
The cost of steel in any building is about 10% of the estimated value of the building.Therefore it is very important to calculate the steel estimate in the estimate of each building.If we do not calculate the steel quantity, there is no estimate of how much steel will be needed in the building and project.
Secondly, since the quantity of steel used in a large project is high, it is necessary to calculate it in order to steel. This is done based on its length. For example, if steel of 100 m 20 mm is used in a column or beam, we can estimate it based on its length. But after extracting the estimate, the order is placed in a shop or in a large steel manufacturing company.This steel company then takes orders in kilograms (Kg). For this we have to place the order in Kg. Steel is calculated in Kg based on its length which has the following formula.
Weight of steel bars= (diameter of steel bars) ™ / 162
With the help of this formula we can find the weight of the steel bars
Let us now understand in detail through the examples.
Weight of 12mm bars which length have 20 m
As above we find the weight of the 12mm diameter steel bars which length of 20 meters with the help of that formula.
Weight of steel bars = (square root of steel dai bar)×length of bars
162
W = (12×12)×20
162
W = 144×20
162
W = 17.77 Kg
From this example you will be able to estimate steel in kg and you will order steel as required in the project and avoid unnecessary expenses.
Now let us see how much weight of each diameter bars in one meter length?
